Catching the Bokeh - Regents Street

Bokeh Regents Street Diana von R Christmas Lights

A throwback to the bokeh catching shoot I did on Regents Street in January, just before they switched off the Christmas lights. At the shoot were two models - we had to use the ambient lighting from the shop signs / electric lights to light up their faces, and then create the bokeh effect with a lower aperture.

For the love of bokeh...

For those that don't know, bokeh comes from the Japanese word boke (ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji, the "blur quality." ... Simply put, bokeh is the pleasing or aesthetic quality of out-of-focus blur in a photograph. (Source: Nikon)
